I will help you set goals and create an individualized plan to help you reach them. This may include acquiring resources, tools and techniques to strengthen behavioral change; utilizing insights into personal roadblocks that get in the way of the life you want; receiving feedback on the ways in which communication styles, relationship dynamics and cognitive processes interact with feelings. I will help you develop the skills you need to move forward and improve the quality of your life.
Specialty areas include: Personal and Family Life Transitions; Stress-Related Concerns; Family Conflict; Grief and Bereavement; Aging, Illness, and Elder Care
Grief & Bereavement Therapy
Even the most highly capable people may struggle with the loss of a loved one due to death, the loss of the person as you once knew them, due to dementia or other cognitive changes, or due to personal losses in physical disability and decline. I can help you learn new tools and coping strategies to help you move thru these painful times and build the resilience needed to move through your grief and adjust to a “new normal.”
Consultations with Family
Help develop coping skills for life transitions, care plans for an aging family member and help with conflict management and family dilemmas. Appropriate aging resources and information can include transportation, housing, medical providers, care providers and education on county, state and federal systems.
